Family Worship Service
We have steadily increased our awareness and offerings of family-inclusive prospects in all of the services and programs, and we have been waiting and seeking to respond to the movement of the Spirit. With all that in mind, we are excited to offer these new opportunities beginning September 18, 2016:
8:00 AM: Continues as traditional Lutheran worship with settings 1-3 from the hymnal, with a dedicated water blessing and children’s choirs.
9:30 AM: Blended in music and liturgy, with a dedicated water blessing, tables, children’s choirs and “Reflections”-a weekly opportunity for people to draw and reflect on the message.
11:00 AM: Blended Contemporary in music and liturgy, moves to Founders Hall, dedicated water blessing, children/youth choir and band offering, “Reflections,” a family message, tables, and families serving in worship.
Every week, we will have a special feature in the Worship Folder with questions and ideas for you to continue the conversation during the week. We want to make an effort to encourage everyone to view our Sunday worship gatherings as a time to get filled up and prepared for the week.
As with all of our services, all ages are welcome at every service. We are not removing the 10:45 AM or the 11:00 AM as they currently stand because of issues, but because we are in a good place to be able to make this change. We pray that these changes will serve 3 goals:
Give honor and glory to God as well as receive God’s many blessings through corporate worship;
Introduce different elements into worship to be able to speak to multiple ages, inviting all to participate in the worship time;
Give room and space for our staff and volunteers to breathe, rest in worship with their families, and some Sundays simply participate in worship rather than always lead it—we want to encourage all people at King of Glory to enter into Sabbath rest and worship!
As we forge ahead, please join us in keeping this year and all that we do in prayer so that ALL may know the love of Jesus.
In Christ Alone-
